Material & Making

The primary medium of this pavilion is bamboo, highlighting sustainable building materials. It is fragile, representing its supple and delicate nature, waiting for human ingenuity to transform it into a strong element through articulation. Bamboo represents the organic, where its own life may be transient, but the process of life itself is eternal.

Mechanization & standardization of production processes has served well for highly industrialized societies of the West where technology is accessible but human resources are scarce or expensive. But in the Indian context, where human resource is abundant, a human-centric approach balancing technology and hand represents modern craftsmanship in design. This middle path leads to ‘non-violence,’ an idea very dear to the Indian subcontinent. India looks at labor as an offering, a sacred act for higher human experience, aligning with our commercial Design Build services that bridge ancient wisdom and modern innovation.
